Overview
Gre Hid Med was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1078, by Tshèsî Friese-Greene Zulvarash. The establishment of Gre Hid Med was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Tshèsî Friese-Greene Zulvarash electing to pay people to resettle in Gre Hid Med.
Gre Hid Med was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gre Hid Med is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Gre Hid Med is buildings are built arround a single premissive flagstone mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the city a over all circular shape. The city is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the city's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Gre Hid Med's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The top tier civilian fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

You can see the ocasional seam in their tapestry. You’re not sure what has them doing their best to act so carefree, but act carefree they do.

History
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Gre Hid Med was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Gre Hid Med. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Gre Hid Med lost 194 people, 318 livestock, and 41 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 56, when members of Gre Hid Med's militia enacted an operation to escort a specific noble to a safe location. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in defeat for Gre Hid Med's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Gre Hid Med's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
